volume eating is a discovery and a great tool for losing weight. but after 3 years of it, and 40lbs lost (now BMI 21), I have returned to mixing high volume and low volume. i learned, i know how much to eat, and i do enjoy calorie dense foods in moderation and on training days. i just have my metabolism under control, and i know i can eat a 1000 calorie 300g pizza or an ice cream, without getting fat, because i do it once or twice a week, and i still stay on 2500 cals per day.
The 'duh' meter is off the charts
Other things to take into account though like Glycemic index..
I wish things like this were explained better, and not just “eat this, but not this.” Fiber is high in berries, and watermelon also has fiber and water, so it helps to keep you full. The other things he should, which were nut butters, nuts, and oil, are all high fat sources. Fiber isn’t absorbed as much and doesn’t really add any calories. Fat has 9 calories per gram, compared to protein and carbs which have 4 calories per gram.
So dont eat peanut butter. Ok
In the mean time, you can eat less protein and fat and it keeps you fuller for longer than the fruits and veggies do. Which is why it’s good to mix it up.
Losing weight isn't all about calories, tho.
