I was 60 kgs when i got pregnant wd my first and now 5 kids later im 95kg. 30 kg overweight. My last child is 3 and i still havnt lost. Im only 34 so i want more babies but im concerned about my weight first
I gained 15 pounds in my pregnancy and baby was super healthy. And I started at a normal BMI (wasn't overweight before getting pregnant). And like you said, each person's body is different. For me,.all the weight went into the growing baby, blood volume and breasts.
I’ve watched this about once a week throughout this pregnancy. I’m 15 weeks pregnant and have gained 30 lbs and feel terrible about myself. Baby girl is doing great and Dr. is only mildly concerned since I was a bit overweight to start, but I can’t help but be upset and worried.
I am on my 5th child. I was 222 when pre pregnancy I am currently 24 weeks and I'm 207. But this is the biggest I've been before getting pregnant with all my kids I was always small then about a year after I had my 4th baby I started gaining weight so it seem like I'm just going back to my normal weight I'm happy about it and the doctor haven't had any concerns about me loosing weight these past 6 months.
I've been stressed out that I've not gained enough, I've had food aversions so I've been having to force feed myself the whole 9 months, I'm the same weight I was before the pregnancy and it makes me so paranoid I'm not feeding the little one enough
This pregnancy I am 23 weeks and I am still loosing weight. I started at a higher weight than is healthy for my height, so I'm not super concerned but my midwife is starting to give me the eyebrows for not gaining, just loosing.
I gained weight rapidly toward the end because I had preeclampsia and was holding an ungodly and unsafe amount of water and it was causing unsafe high blood pressure and had to be induced. Only saying this because if you are just gaining a lot of weight really fast in your late second and early third trimester and don’t know why, tell your doctor because it could be serious.
I had so big nausea problems that I lost so much weight in my first trimester that I hadn't back my weight entering the third. Where the nausea comes back so that I hardly stay on my weight again… That's no fun, too!
The only weight gain concern I had with my pregnancy was during my last pregnancy. My grandma unexpectedly died in her sleep, and it was really hard on me. My grandma and i were very close. My husband and friends kept telling me to make sure I ate, and I ended up gaining 10 lbs in one month.
There's a chart that will show you the amount of weight you are likely to gain, and that is healthy to gain based on your BMI and there's doctors that will break down pound for pound where that extra weight comes from. I am obese so I will gain 26 pounds. Only 7 Pounds of that should be from fat.
I only freak out about weight cuz I don't want it to mean my baby will come out huge 😂 not that big babies are bad I'm just afraid for my nether regions 😅
I have 4 kids first i gained 100pounds 😮 second 35 third 25 4th 18 pounds they were all healthy babies but I've struggled with weight since the first one 28 yrs ago lol
I started my first pregnancy out at 303 and lost 30 pounds while pregnant eating the same way I always had. My second pregnancy, 5 years later, I was about 250 and lost about 30 pounds again while pregnant. The doctor was always concerned about my weight loss to a point but I had extra weight to start with before I got pregnant and my biggest baby was under 8 pounds.
Idk if this is the case across the whole of the UK, but my midwife doesn't ever weigh me and has never asked about my weight, not this pregnancy, not my last one lol
I gained a tremendous about of weight especially with baby #1. I was considered underweight pre pregnancy so doctors weren’t concerned. The weight always fell off after baby but I know that a lot of women struggle with getting the weight off. Now after 6 kids I’m a fairly normal size 12 @ 5”10’
I’m 66 I’ve had two children. I will tell you this be careful of what you eat but don’t freak out! Eat lots and lots of good nutritious things, and be very careful about the junk food!
I'm on the opposite side of things where I have a hard time gaining weight and it stresses me out a lot. I have a lot of food avoidances so it was hard to eat because I would just throw it up which made me deliver a couple weeks early and she was super small. I felt like it was my fault I couldn't gain weight. 🙁
I was 150 at the start of my pregnancy but I was also heavily struggling with undiagnosed grave’s disease that prevented me from gaining weight and messed with my son’s development. Now everyone that knew me then sees me now and their like wow you have color in your cheeks and you look healthy I’m currently 224 I can stand to lose some weight but I’m genuinely so much healthier now and my son is on par for development which is super important to me😊
I'm losing weight and I'm not even trying to. Baby girl is still very healthy and kicking the crap out of me all the time, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
Some pregnant women can’t walk because they are so sick and gain massive amounts of weight without eating. I couldn’t eat or drink and lives off iVs until 7 months but every thought I was 7 months already. The doc says that either I was having twins or a large baby and I had a large baby estimated at 40 weeks to be 10lb but I had him a exactly 38 week 8lbs.
Yes thank you!! I'm usually a UK size 6-8 and I put on 3 and a half stone during my pregnancy. The thing is I was eating healthy food, lots of fruits and veggies, all for my little one. I'm now 4 weeks post partum and lost a stone, I know I've got a little way to go, but that will disappear with exercise. (can't at the moment because I had emergency C section, so all I can do is walk). I don't regret a thing though, all that weight was for my baby, and I am blessed that she is happy and healthy. Don't overthink these things momma's, you are all doing amazingly. Remember you can always lose the weight afterwards, it's not the end of the world. You are doing this for your babies!! 😘 Edit: I'd also like to add that if you are planning to breast feed or pump, that weight will melt off you.
19 pounds so far. 31 weeks. My goal is to stay under 25 pounds but a few more won't distress me. I don't understand chastising the Dr. Excessive or insufficient weight gain can be dangerous for mom and baby. Of course you should be warned about that by your care provider. Otherwise they wouldn't be doing their jobs.
I love that she didn’t even toss out a number

Yeah, I agree, but… I’m still curious how much you gained with each pregnancy. I thought there was going to be an answer in this lol
I've been stressed out that I've not gained enough, I've had food aversions so I've been having to force feed myself the whole 9 months, I'm the same weight I was before the pregnancy and it makes me so paranoid I'm not feeding the little one enough

I didn't retain any water I did gain a little weight my ankles never swelled up nothing swelled on me when I was pregnant

I weighed 112 pre pregnancy and weighed 118 when I delivered lol
My first I gain 40 lbs. I ate like a human garbage disposal. I it fit in my mouth I ate it. I could not be stopped!
My 2nd, I craved fruits and vegetables. I ate so much spinach and broccoli. (no butter/no cheese) How much weight did I gain? 62 POUNDS.
I had so big nausea problems that I lost so much weight in my first trimester that I hadn't back my weight entering the third. Where the nausea comes back so that I hardly stay on my weight again… That's no fun, too!

I work very hard to grow that human. I deserve dessert with every meal. Period.

My reflux in the second and third trimester kept me from gaining weight all though I put on 25 lbs in my first cuz all I did was eat and sleep
1st time here. 7weeks in and I've lost 6 pounds hehe.
Then theres me, Im 17 weeks and I haven't been able to maintain my weight let alone gain anything. Eat for me mamas.

Healthy weight gain is 25-35 pounds
