Dr. Berg talks about Acceptable Pleasure Foods on the ketogenic diet. These foods are not meant to be consumed as a snack but after the meal as a dessert. These recipes are low carb, however, the bread recipe contains a bit more carb due to a tiny bit of molasses and arrowroot flour, however, it’s still a lot smaller than typical bread due to no wheat flour. Also, test the waters with these recipes because some people are sensitive to sugar alcohol and can experience some bloating. Then some people consume excess amounts of these treats and because of the delicious recipes, they eat WAY TOO MUCH- so be careful.

Don’t deprive yourself anymore!
Click on the above links to get the recipes- (and if you get the dessert book, you get all of these amazing recipes).

  1. What are your thoughts: The study shows that erythritol is closely associated with risk for “major adverse cardiovascular events.” In other words, people who have high blood levels of erythritol are more prone to heart attacks, strokes and even death.

  2. There are a lot of keto recipes for peanut butter cups using 100% unsweetened cocoa or cacao (don't even have to use sugar or a sweetener if you don't want to), whipped cream, pizza, chips and tortillas using cheese and/or eggs, fries using zucchini, rutabaga and a couple other low carb vegetables, just about everything can be made a keto version. I even found a keto pasta recipe using cheese for the pasta. Just have to search.

  3. Dr. Berg i think u need to raise funds and open a keto restaurant. Smtn like a food Clinic. Over time we could spread all over the world as providing alternative medicine and healthy food alternatives!

  4. It's great to know that we can still enjoy delicious treats while following a keto lifestyle. These foods not only satisfy our cravings but also keep us on track with our health goals. Thanks for sharing these wonderful options!

  5. I used to make amazing pancakes and waffles using alternative flours etc as well as other baked goods but haven’t on a long time. Since my stroke though I’ve been much more conscious about what I consume, gone almost full keto, and I’m doing IF. I went today 28 hours fasting and walked 11k last night – was burning in my muscles when I got home at 1:30am and slept soundly. Gonna do a shorter walk today and yard work.

  6. Thank you so much Dr Berg for all these wonderful ideas. I also love the way you speak to your wife, with so much respect and love, you are a wonderful dr and example to us

  7. I would love to try keto. It sounds awesome. But i don't like to cook too much, never mind trying bulletproof coffee, bone broths, electrolyte powders, suppliments, stuff to remove fat from liver, things to unclog my arteries, then worrying about cholesterol but not the big kind the little kind, also i don't want to lose weight i want to build muscle and be healthy, so I'm allowed carbs but not too many. My head is battered. There has to be a simple guide with simple meals for someone like me?
