  1. The term Nutritionist on its own isnt a regulated term so anyone can call themselves a Nutritionist whether that be a person who actually studied nutrition and has a masters degree in nutrition or someone who googled stuff and thinks they are an expert and now calls themselves a Nutritionist. Registered Dietitians (aka RD) are nutritionists who have completed a bachelors or masters degree in nutrition, have completed 900-1200 hours of supervised practiced, passed an exam and are formally registered via the designated credentialing organization in the US, which is the CDR. So not just anyone can call themselves an RD, its very regulated. To work as an RD they must maintain their registration ( which includes an annual fee) and complete 75 hrs of continuing education every 5 years. Yes you have to be registered to be an RD but not always licensed, it depends on the state and the area of practice (ex. Clinical vs Community) whether or not a license is required …..yeah that was a lot and it gets confusing but thats it in a nutshell.

  3. I studied Nutritional Science at college and had a lot of classes with dietetics majors. They had much less science than I did and it was considered easier than mine. Should I make a stupid short of me with this as my stupid flex? I keep seeing dietitians doing this as a trend and I'm glad I'm not a dietitian. You all seem like mean girls.

  4. this is a mass overgeneralization, the term "nutritionist" is regulated differently in different countries and US states, in a lot of places they require some sort of certification, so you can't just say you're a nutritionist with no proper training

  5. I just studied a master's in nutrition while my friend did a master's in dietetics at the same time so we were doing the courses side by side. Her course mainly focused on nutritional needs of hospital patients with serious illness whereas my course covered chronic conditions and disease prevention for people who were living day to day. Both courses were amazing but the point is dieticians and nutritionists have the same amount of learning time but the way this time is used is different. Of course this doesn't consider ongoing education the person does after their course but that is the difference between them that does not seem to be made clear for people deciding what kind of professional they need.

  6. I have done my graduation in bsc nutrition and dietics from quantum university. Quantum university is in uttrakhand roorkee . Quantum university has quiet good infarstucture and if we compare the fee from other private university is quiet low . they also provide scholrship based on your competetive exam cuet / 12 result and qacre exam. which is good for middle class family. All the faculties of Quantum are phd's and have experince of more than 5 to 6 years .Quantum university do provide interdiscipilinary the other subject you can opt as in minor subject. placemnts are quiet good i got placed Byjus company with starting package of 10 LPA.And yes you can opt for a Second programme with BSC NUTRITION dietics or any other undergraduate programme which is called INTERDECIPILINARY programme. In which one is your major course and second one is your minor course.

  7. Misleading information for people in Australia, as this information is incorrect.

This synopsis may however be (and most likely would be the case) country specific.

A qualifier or disclaimer statement is needed during the introduction. Thank you 😊.

  8. Lol as a Holistic Nutritionist I find it funny that you did all of that schooling to know NOTHING about how the human body HEALS. Also, you know nothing about nutrition or food and definitely nothing about the food system. Happy for you though, because you allopathic turds keep my business thriving in Canada. Because once people get sick of your protocols doing nothing for them they fork out their own money to see MEEEE 😂❤🎉

  9. Being a certified nutritionist required having a masters degree and that’s been that way for years but dietitians are just now as a 2024 required to have a masters degree to practice like I remember being so mad that I missed that deadline 😭

  10. The key difference between dietitians and nutritionists is in their training and licensing. Dietitians are legally required to be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) in their countries and work in private clinics, treating complex conditions like diabetes, food allergies, IBS, and malnutrition. They give evidence-based advice, making them the best choice. On the other hand, nutritionists don’t need formal registration, and anyone can call themselves one without any education. Dietitians have more education and training than nutritionists.

  11. How can an international student with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics become a certified dietitian in the U.S.? What are the steps to meet the criteria for practicing? Does anyone have information on the requirements?

  12. Aww congrats to you hun. ❤ I'm literally now applying for undergrad after years of making excuses. Must be such a rewarding field. I want to work with overweight people especially. Such a reward to see their progress. All the best
