Quickest Way to Lose the Baby Weight From a Mom of 4 #postpartum #postpartumweightloss #momtobe

When you realize “losing the baby weight” is meant literally 😉

Let’s talk about losing weight after baby and how a lot of that weight has nothing to do with fat.

If you feel pressured to “bounce back” I highly encourage you to check out my other video titled “Let’s talk about bouncing back after baby” while you are there also see “Don’t miss out on life all because you want to lose a few.”

Remember mama you are amazing and the only thing you should be focusing on those first few weeks is your recovery, your baby, and the incredible thing your body just did ❤️❤️

  1. I lost 20lds at delivery. 10lb 10oz baby, excessive fluid and large placenta. I watched them weigh the fluid bag and placenta and it was litteraly 11 lbs. The excessive fluid and large baby wasn't caught during pregnancy.i always measures on track and at my growth scan (32 weeks) he measured 49th percentile with normal fluid (gonna say that wasnt at all accurate) . I remember complaining to someone about how I dont get why ive gained so much because my food and diet didn't seem to add up to all the extra weight. If someone would have told me that I probably would have been like " sure Jane" but I cant say I dont feel validated now lol

  2. For the next week to 2 weeks your also losing all that extra blood your body stored up during pregnancy. Which is good. It's there to help ensure you don't bleed to death during delivery because you got extra to lose. But if you didn't hemorrhage super bad during delivery, it's still on your body adding to your postpartum weight. Along with extra water/fluid your body retained for precautions. So that has to cycle out of your body as well. So much weight is pregnancy stuff and not actual fat that you gained.

  3. Same. Gained 57 lbs during my pregnancy. Im 2 wk 6 days postpartum and I've lost 32 lbs. I'd be surprised if more than 3 lbs is fat loss despite talking light walks and eating nutritious food. Im focused on recovery for the next 3 months not fitting in jeans. Sundresses and sweats exist for a reason. Give yourselves grace mommas. This season is HARD.

  4. Thank you! Also love how you are like, "I had the baby! 🤦‍♀️ lol

And blood volume increases up to 50% during pregnancy, that's about another 5lb that isn't gonna drop off day one after delivering your baby or through exercise.

  5. I genuinly thought they lost fat. Tbh this is my first pregnancy and as someone who struggled with eating disorders, ive been struggling to convince myself that im not suddenly fatter in the stomach, but theres a baby in there. People like me are prey for those type of “courses”.

  6. A woman’s blood volume goes up SIGNIFICANTLY during pregnancy to accommodate the metabolic demands of making a human! Once you have the baby, your kidneys flush out the extra fluids from your blood stream. Water is heavy!

  7. Finally someone said it!! I’ve seen so many influencers who show their “weight loss” but it’s literally all baby and in their stomach which will go back to normal no matter what after having a baby.

  8. I'm 4 months pregnant. My pap asked me a month or two ago, "so after you have the baby, are you gonna work really hard to lose the baby weight?"
I was like "…… ummm I think I'll be focusing more on keeping my child alive. 🤨"
I then tried to expound on why focusing on weight loss immediately after having a baby is not a wise priority, but halfway through my next sentence he tuned me out and started telling his dog what a good girl she is 😑
So many men are so willfully ignorant I freaking swear 🙄🙄

  9. Im 7 months post partum with my 4th. What I find helpful is not to focus on losing weight or how I look, but just focus on taking care of myself by getting strong. Whatever happens when I do that, like losing weight, is a bonus

  10. When I had my first baby I went to a social event like 6 weeks later kid-free and when people saw me they said, “You don’t even look like you had a baby!” I knew what they meant, but because my genetics basically just did what they did, I honestly was a little offended, like hey! Give me some credit! I just went through the most empowering thing my little body could ever do and it amazed me, and I had a traumatic birth that mentally I was definitely still recovering from. We all are just trying to make it through parenting the best we can and our bodies go through ssooo much! Grace, time and health are key, and that can look different from season to season for one person, let alone comparing one person to another, or one person before they have even just one child vs. after.

  11. THANK YOU!! Scream this for the people in the back who are trying to do a skinny tea detox after having a baby!! STOP!! Your body will recover from pregnancy and then you can focus on building strength and functional mobility. Beyond that your body deserves some loving tender care while you transition into this new phase of life… not torture 💛 from a mother of four with all my love 😘

  12. Girl I was 100 pounds wet pre pregnancy last year I gained 50! Pounds I was convinced I was having my biggest baby of them all a 10 pounder 😅Noo he came out super small the smallest of all 3 at 5.0 pounds 😂😂 🤦🏻‍♀️ I lost it all fast tho I’m pretty blessed and lucky to bounce right back in less than a month but I was so self conscious during that time I was the heaviest I ever been my whole life 😊

  13. Yes! Exactly. I'm literally in tears, there is enough pressure on new mums with mothering choices, not to mention their bodies. I once heard someone say I don't need to bounce back, I want to bounce forward, and I think that's perfect!
