Ingredients in this spicy red pepper feta dip
As I mentioned, this creamy dip requires just 6 simple ingredients but it’s absolutely bursting with flavor. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Feta: I love using feta cheese as the base for dip recipes because it adds plenty of salty, savory flavor.
- Roasted red peppers: the key ingredient? A jar of roasted red bell peppers! We’re not roasting our own bell pepper for this recipe. You can typically find these jars near the artichokes, olives, etc. Feel free to use regular or fire roasted.
- Garlic: you’ll need a clove of fresh garlic for savory flavor.
- Lemon juice: add the perfect amount of brightness with a little lemon juice or red wine vinegar.
- Olive oil: a touch of olive oil helps blend everything together so its nice and smooth.
- Red pepper flakes: add a delicious kick of heat with red pepper flakes! See below for more ways to up the spice level.
Can I make it dairy free?
The feta cheese base is really what makes this dip, but you can try subbing dairy free feta crumbles if you can find them! I haven’t tested it so I’m not 100% certain on the flavor, but let me know in the comments if you do.
More ways to add spicy flavor
If you don’t have red pepper flakes, try blending in a jalapeño or a spicy red pepper to give the dip a lovely kick of heat!
