  1. Such a pity many workplaces and schools allow only 30minutes food break. After years of 'inhaling' my lunch, I noticed I always eat super fast unless I watch yt shorts

  2. I've definitely had to learn this. I didn't eat too fast most of the time, but faster than I do now. I have stomach pain often, and one of the simplist/simplest things I learned that helped prevent them from happening or made them less painful, was eating slower, taking my time. I don't know what I have, I still have to talk to a gastroenterologist about that.

  3. I love seeing my fellows who also had to sit at the table for hours becuase we ate too slow. It also didn't help that I had an undiagnosed condition that made it very hard for me to eat big portions. Many long table nights

  4. Also parent if you notice your children doing this help then to realize how fast they're eating and if it is a problem for them to slow down give them small amount of food at a time, if possible. Help them slow down

  5. I'm really gonna keep this with me cause it's so true. When I was a kid every Friday we'd eat dinner while watching a movie or something on Tv. I would always eat super slow when it came watching and eating. My parents would tell me to eat faster so I wouldn't take an hr to finish my meal. Once I became a teen, I started to eat in 5-10mins, always go back for seconds, as I felt like if I'm watching something, I need to be eating, and ended up overeating all the time. Now at least I'm starting to fix my habits, but it did wreck me for a bit. I'm not gonna blame my parents though, they just wanted to clean up before 8pm.

  6. i’ve noticed for a long time i’m just a slow eater because i always finish my food last. it’s not a problem to me at all and im not so slow that my food is cold towards the end. i’m just smaller than my siblings and have a smaller mouth so i take smaller bites and i chew thoroughly.
the only time it ever been a “problem” was when i was on a date with someone and beforehand i even said, “hey just a heads up, im a slow eater” he proceeded to inhale his entire plate in minutes, i took my time so i wouldn’t make myself sick and just paced myself like i usually do. at some point he was like “yeah you eat too slow” and i just remember thinking he can just suck it up. i dont know why it bothered me so much but it did.

  7. I think this start from school and work… you go like up for lunch at school… say your lunch period was 30 minutes and then you wait 10 minutes for your food… you only have 20 minutes to eat.. best case scenario but others only had 10-15 left plus still going to the bathroom and just relaxing and sitting there… obviously you scarf down your food…

  8. I eat at normal pace, usually takes me 20-30 minutes to finish. I can't tell you how many times I got criticized for it in family functions and stuff. These people will be inhaling in 10 mins nd then while feeling bloated and looking for some digestive syrup complaint how i should eat faster

  9. THANK YOU. It actually works though, I didn’t notice the difference when I do this before, but now thinking back at it, I do eat slower when I put my utensils down between bites 😭

  10. I can't. Sometimes I get literally 20 minutes to eat at work. And that's 5-10 minutes waiting for food to come from the galley. But I guess I'll try this when I have extra time.

  11. Truly the damage short lunch periods have done on our populations bowel system…. I was a slow eater who got trained out of it because my lunches were illegally short. Another excellent tip is simply to CHEW! CHEW SO MUCH!

  12. this is a life changing tip for me thank you so much <3 trying to chew slower just didn't work and it made me bored but this is a really good tactile trick, such a small change but so helpful!

  13. I like talking to a friend or watching a video. Something to remind me to slow down and enjoy moment. But it never occurred that it might be helping my digestion, too! It's always been a mental health consideration.
