Doctor Mike Tries KETO for 30 DAYS



The Ketogenic or Keto diet has gotten A LOT of media coverage in the last few years. I decided to follow up my original Keto video with one where I actually try out the diet for myself.

I was not surprised that the keto diet was difficult to stick to because of the restrictive nature of it. However, the weight loss and other benefits were definitely noticed and fairly early on into the diet.

  1. I was traveling almost 2 months staying in hotel couldn’t cook luckily restaurant nearby was a keto diet restaurant owned by doctor same time nutritionists so I tried vegan keto and wasn’t bad even I got free nutrition advice lost some weight but..

  2. Poor attempt. You have to prep meals to pull this off with that job. If that's too much effort, order a boatload of Factor Meals. Maybe they'll sponsor you. And you'll have to do 6 weeks to get the full transition going.

  3. 7 year keto /low carb experience here. You need 3 – 4 months to become fat adapted / metabolically flexible, until then you need to lessen intensity, duration, & number of your work outs.
    Your body is leaching so many minerals along with the 2-3L of fluid you’re drinking a day – a cup of homemade bone broth a day is a great replacement for those depleting electrolyte stores. Use electrolytes to balance cravings. Magnesium is your friend on many levels but sodium at 2.5 tsp a day is crucial for all bodily processes. You need to also learn more about the psychology strategies that support lifestyle changes – there are many pillars that hold up success, mindfulness, sleep, whole food nutrition which is not labelled ‘KETO’ nothing from not bags, boxes & packets with barcodes. Thank you for that strap line Prof Ben Bikman!
    I’m surprised you don’t reference the literature on this lifestyle. It isn’t designed for a quick fix it’s about proactive health for a healthy life down matching a long life span. The most researched lifestyle in the literature. Next time try 4 months of the complete lifestyle. And hey you don’t need to eat all that sat fat if it’s not you. Prioritise protein but don’t fear the fat.

  4. The point of keto is to eat healthy Whole Foods. Not processed salmon in a can or ultra processed meats like hotdogs. It’s not that hard to pack a homemade keto meal to work.

  5. What about the keto flu? You never had it? I feel like Im dying here in my first days… going to pee everytime. I feel dehydrated even though Im drinking lots of water with pink salt and lemon, and I also took magnesium citrate

  6. its funny but keto has been out for years,, like 12 years now,,, an you keep seeing the skinny people do keto… why is that a new fad of eating…. here it is for the slow people keto was a body building diet to shed excess fat.. for a show or a cut, now its a long sad fad………… if your skinny like doc mike…… your body needs carbs to survive if your active.. technically, if your old an fat and did 30 years of carbs,,, its time to change as you get older……… young healthy people need carbs or carnivore

  8. I'm on day 23 of the keto diet and 16:8 fast. My back pain and knee pain is gone and my rosacea in my face has vanished completely. I also lose 1kg per week. I was at 80,5kg and now I'm at 77,5kg. I know a lot of it is water, but still. The back pain was also because of my pregnancy, I gave birth 10 months ago, and so I had a lot of back pain. It's completely gone now because of the inflammation has gone away. I cannot recommend it enough. Before keto, I had to have sugar and sweets every day. And I just have no cravings for it. It's so crazy.

  9. One thing i do whwn i use keto for appetite suppressants but you need to train hard, most of people can stay in ketosis up to 50g carb/day, EXP if you oxydize them quickly by training. Concentrate the 30g before training and then resume with your 20g a day

  10. I started 5 days ago been eating 210 calories for the first 2 days it was just 3 hard boiled eggs . Hard fasting in the beginning and now I’m doing 500-800calories past 2 days and today hopefully 1500calories and also exercising and it was fine walking 2.5 miles but running on a game of 21 basketball I was dying in 8 minutes. Ps I don’t exercise. I went from eating everything to nothing and I love rice I’m Asian so this is 10000% harder and I have no self control so even worse especially with all my mental health problems . But I’m going in strong and holding true; wish me luck.

  11. Talk to your doctor about the pros and cons about a ketogenic diet…Don’t think so. There are people out there that can exhibit the benefits of keto better than you I’m afraid. They also have the science around the benefits of a ketogenic diet. This is just fluff. Sorry but true.

  12. Because we have sinned we have fallen short of the glory and eternity with God so He sent Jesus to take the punishment of sins by dying on the cross painfully! Bcuz of this love we have eternity with God and a relationship if we believe! He then rose from the dead 3 days later! Turn ur life to Him and a live a life for God because He is the happiness we need
