  1. Bro i used to weigh 140 before taking Abilify

The Abilify is used to treat my schizophrenia and anxiety

I only took ts for a few months nd i weigh 173

  2. Over the counter Antihistamines also cause weight gain. As a long time allergy sufferer I am now learning how terrible withdrawals are too. No doctor ever told me. Just lectured me about my very slow yet steady weight gain.

  3. Fuck these doctors. They want to put you on a high blood pressure medicine on the very first visit. Im on irbesartan and already gained like 5 pounds in two weeks. Im not taking this medicine anymore. Take supplements

  4. Why can’t scientists study these drugs and use the info to reverse obesity?

Why don’t doctors mention that a medication may cause weight gain? Sometimes the informational insert won’t even mention the side effect of weight gain. But when you go to the website about the medication you may find weight gain mentioned there. This requires deep digging and effort by the patient to get at the truth. Even then, once confronted, a doctor may downplay the side effect of weight gain. It’s better to watch your scale rather than what the doctor says. The meds that are CHEAPER for insurance to cover may have this side effect more often. Doctors want to Rx the CHEAPER meds. If, after weeks/months, the patient is mysteriously gaining weight and THINKS TO ASK to the doctor for an alternate medication that does NOT cause weight gain, he/she will Rx the next cheapest alternative. The patient may go through weight gain, several appointments and SEVERAL medication changes to get to the ones that don’t cause weight gain while performing their function. The patient will find that each medication change comes with a higher pricetag. The doctor KNOWS which medications will not cause weight gain. But they purposely don’t offer them automatically bc they have been trained to go with the cheapest meds to keep Medical Insurers and Big Pharma happy.

Not even Bariatric Doctors will go over a patient’s medication list carefully to ensure nothing there has been causing weight gain.

It’s like doctors have been trained to protect the financial interests of Big Pharma, rather than the interests of the patient.

Don’t think like a doctor. They are corrupt.

  5. I have been on IRBESARTAN for the last year. I have also gone up six pants sizes from this medicine so it’s not my imagination I exercise for an hour and a half every day at and I still don’t lose weight. My doctor refuses to take me off of this medicine, so I’m taking myself off.

  6. I’m sorry, but rather than feeling like the Goodyear blimp all the time I’ll watch my blood pressure I’m stop taking irbesartan. I mentioned it to my doctor and she makes me sound like I’m psycho I know it’s not my imagination. She does absolutely nothing to help me and I won’t pay somebody anymore to do nothing not to help me!!!!

  7. I’m on IRBESARTAN for my high blood pressure, but I have been exercising an hour and a half five days a week for the last two months and have not lost 1 pound. That’s why I’m wondering if this medicine can cause weight gain and why would my doctor put me on it if I have high blood pressure? I’m not understanding she complains. I am high blood pressure and put me on medicine that make me gain weight. It doesn’t make sense to me today.

  8. When a medication I was put on made me gain 53 kg in a year, I wanted to kill the doctor. I was stuck with it for twenty years. Even after I was taken off it. That's near 117lb.
