  1. You do know that ketogenic diets have vegetables high in fiber, right? You're thinking of a carnivore diet, aka the diet that humans and our ancestors have been eating for over 2 million years without any adverse health effects. The Inuit have been shown to have some of the most diverse and healthy microbiomes ever studied, with absolutely zero fiber, and many people going on a 0 fiber carnivore diet have significantly improved the diversity and health of their microbiome as well. So even if a ketogenic diet were to remove fiber, the benefits that you are espousing don't exist. In fact, many people go from a high fiber ketogenic diet to a zero fiber carnivore diet and significantly improve their microbiomes. As to long-term health outcomes of ketogenic and carnivore diets? The anthropological data is very clear on this, as is the fossil record: when populations move from predominantly hunting to agrarian diets the height and health of the populations decline, with smaller brains, smaller jaws and crooked teeth, poor dentition, signs of tuberculosis in their spines, poor wound healing, and other signs of poor health immediately after turning to agriculture. We see this and the fossil record of ancient populations, and we saw it in real time over the past century with Native North Americans and native Australians. You guys are experts in your field, but this is definitely not your field, and looking into this more closely and carefully would serve you well; not to mention the people that you are influencing on the internet like this. People are going to listen to you as authorities, but you aren't understanding or recognizing the full picture here, so that is going to be misleading for people and point them down the wrong path. Happy to discuss sometime if you like.

  2. Jury is not out on Alzheimer’s & mood/personality disorders. Where are you guys, under a rock?

I understand that you cannot recommend it based on your materials coming from the top down (follow the money), but leading people AWAY from something that proves to work over & over & over again causing the once most anti-social & anxious people to create their own YouTube channels to spread the word, sharing their story because they were never given a hint about diet, only medication after medication, at any doctors visit? Some would call that ‘doing harm’.

Some people would prefer relief NOW. Some prefer to continue taking medication to eat their diet of choice. But for those who want relief now, this is heartbreaking.

Metabolic Mind conferences of medical professionals, patients, and everyone in between along with their YouTube channel would clear this up in the ‘jury’ for you if it’s really necessary.

In the age of information, and as a professional PAID to offer helpful advice, ignorance is a choice.

  3. Doing a keto diet to lose weight and living a permanent keto lifestyle are two different things. Plus keto doesn't need to be low fiber; I eat lots of spinach fried in butter and garlic, lots of steamed broccoli topped with melted parmesan and cheddar cheese. You can still get lots of fiber by cutting out carbs. Though I suppose my diet is not strictly 'keto' as I don't get 60-70% of my calories from fat. I suppose I'm more of a 'use as much cheese, butter and olive oil as you like for flavor and to reduce hunger cravings, and eat a veggie centered menu with lots of protein (without cutting off the skin and fat), but zero carbs (so no fruit, potatoes etc either)', which is probably not strictly keto.

  4. Hey doctor. Actually u don't say that keto is bad. U just sat that is low in fiber. And most people well educated on healthy keto know that veggies are very important. And "clean" keto, not bacon and cheeses. And that u don't want to be having most of your fat from animals but you have to watch your unsaturated fats as well. Seeds, nuts, olive oil, avocado, fish and so on.

  5. You guys suck too! Doctors are no longer necessary w keto. When something serious happens to me, I’ll come see you then. Until then, I don’t trust doctors any more with my general health! So many futile appts, only to get prescribed another medicine. When Doctors learn to have a nutrition convo w clients, only then will I be back! So sad!

  6. Keto works, definitely; I used it to drop 16 pounds in the leadup to my TKR surgery. I just find after several weeks that the food proscriptions make it a tedious way to live. Some people are alright with this but I am not one of them.

  7. I’ve done keto. It definitely works for weight loss but I don’t think it’s the diet for everyone. I notice am energy difference off keto. On it I had a more consistent level of energy but definitely also had less energy.

  8. Yes! long term evidence! ME! eight years later – still off ALL of the 11-13 prescription medications that were part of my life for many years. And symptoms disappeared from long time chronic autoimmune junk. . Yes! there is long term evidence – but no one makes any money from proving this, so who will fund such study.

  9. Hahaha the lack of knowledge!
My friend survived invasive breastcancer because she reduced her input of carbohydrates to a minimum 6 month before she was diagnosed. She still had lots of veggies with her legumes, meat, fish, mushrooms, eggs and nuts. Don't forget: cancer needs sugar to grow.

  10. These dudes are clueless, I hope nobody actually takes them seriously. I eat beef, butter, bacon and eggs. I’ve never been healthier my entire life, bloodwork is perfect and im off my blood pressure meds. There are ZERO essential carbs or sugars, you also don’t need any fiber. What idiots.

  11. I lost 125 lbs. over three years doing Keto. I saw my doctor once a year. Each time, my blood pressure was lower, and I was eventually taken off one of my HBP meds, my EKGs improved, and my metabolic syndrome disappeared as well. I have kept the weight off for two additional years.

  12. Wow, the misinformation and ignorance from these doctors are astounding. On the keto diet, you have plenty of vegetables and we'll get plenty of fiber to feed your gut microbiome! I've been on the keto diet for years and always ate the wide variety of vegetables. This is why people have such a distrust in doctors. The gut microbiome does not need 9 to 12 cups of vegetables to sustain itself either. Incorporate variety, and the bacteria are more than satisfied.

  13. Been doing Dr Berg Keto for 2.5 years. Started at 110kg down to 75kg in the first year. Had a mass of health problems before keto, most of them vanished or lessened with Keto. Haven't been this fit and healthy for decades. All because of keto.

  14. It's almost like some people are using this diet in order to avoid vegetables. I know some veggies have a lot of carbs but people actually need carbs to some extent. Especially very active people, like those who run marathons, play sports, etc.
I see some on this diet drinking a lot of energy drinks. And I mean a lot!
So is there some correlation between no carbs and no energy? Of course there is!
So this could be the start of something very unhealthy. If someone isn't getting any carbs from veggies, pasta, etc, they don't have the energy or stamina for physical activities.
This is actually something I'm noticing. And I'm seeing it in younger people (under 30).
Also, all beverages are not just sugar free but zero sugar. And I don't even want to get into that part of bad.
It just seems like this is a trip down the wrong road. Instead of eating a balanced diet, it's just massive amounts of meat (and other proteins), 'zero' beverages and an unhealthy amount of Monster drinks.
And the person I see doing this probably has a near perfect BMI! (and they've never been heavy, fat or noticably overweight)
I really wish they would do more extensive studies on the long term effects of a Keto diet!
It's almost like some people are obsessed with this diet! It just seems like an unhealthy obsession. Especially when you factor in the artificial sweeteners and energy drinks!
And please don't tell me that this person should consult with his doctor because if he had done that, this diet wouldn't have been suggested or recommended.🤨
Thanks for sharing another great video!👍
