Questions about keto explained and ketosis explained by a real doctor. The ketogenic diet is a very low carb, high fat diet that shares many similarities with the Atkins and low carb diets. It involves drastically reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. When this happens, your body becomes incredibly efficient at burning fat for energy. It also turns fat into ketones in the liver, which can supply energy for the brain. Ketogenic diets can cause significant reductions in blood sugar and insulin levels. This, along with the increased ketones, has some health benefits. Have you tried the keto diet? What has your keto diet experience been? Let Doctor Wagner know in the comments below if you’ve ever tried the keto diet or your other fast loss diet reviews.

  1. I was on keto a long time. I allowed myself 1 cheat meal every week or two. You wouldn't believe how many times it popped me right out of a plateau. I had to remind myself that this is not someone else's sport: I'm the boss here and I make the rules. If a decision I make isn't helpful, I won't make that one again. Just never stop keto. It's ok to take a break, as long as you don't stop.

  2. The Keto diet sure doesn't work for everyone. The protein & fat is hard on your kidneys to process if you have chronic kidney disease. Also it's not suitable for heart failure patients if high cholesterol is an issue.

  3. Too much work to keep track of this diet. I just want to burn off some visceral fat. I'll stick to fast walking 2 to 4 miles per day and just limiting white sugar and white flour.

  4. Keto saved my life. I can walk and run again club stairs and put my head on the floor and pray to God painless again finally. I tryed the pyramid diet but just got fatter and sicker. But the keto healty eating was the only diet that helped me lose over 20kg helped with normalizing my presure suger and cholesterol as well the doctors where suprised at the clinic as well with the change. ❤ I was eating more and still losing weight.

  5. I've been on Keto for 4.5 years.
    *Lost 20 lbs
    *Acid reflux is gone
    *Colitis flare-ups gone
    *Gluten sensitivity gone
    *Back fat gone

**Always communicate with your doctors and keep them updated👍🏼

  6. I did Keto for some time and from my experience it helps and I walked away with a more balanced diet afterward always conscious of not eating too many carbs which is what I was doing before keto. I do not eat red meat now and eat more salmon and chicken with some pork. A greek yogurt with the fat still in it helps with digestion and a good snack. I still wait till around noon to break my fast.

  7. You said that saturated fats cause heart disease. What actual scientific (unbiased) proof is there that this is true? Are you certain that this is true or are you just running the company line? My understanding, I but I'm not a medical doctor, is that the human body handles the natural saturated fat that humans, along with the other 3000 meat eating mammals, have been eating for millions of years, as opposed to the massive damage that the man made unstable polyunstrated seed oils do. Just the omega 3 :6 ratio imbalance alone is enough to scare me. Would appreciate your thoughts.

  8. I didn't know i was doing a kind of kito diet, i eat blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, avocado, nuts, almonds and that kind of food and i am expecting to gain muscle however i haven't gain a single kilo,so maybe that's the reason, i was eating Red fruits since I've seen they are good for brain health.

  9. Yes .. at 5:33 .. there's little evidence that this diet is safe over the long-term .. but it's better than the alternative ..
You know the one .. doctor doctor , I'm thinking of eating the same food when I usually do over the long-term .. there's no research for that either …
Side note .. I've been over 3 weeks going towards keto with less and less carb and fasting and think as I write this I have keto flu .. thats an achievement here for me ..
And .. your list of side effects , you say , and much more .. I think now would be a good time to share what those are..

  10. Let me give you a frankly feedback. Your face expiration dosen't sounds trustworthy and talk serious and important topics with a very unnecessary and annoying example. Hope you can make improvements in future videos. Thanks for the effort.

  11. I first tried the keto diet in my mid-20s when I wanted to cut body fat. It didn’t work out well, and I dismissed it. The next time I gave it a shot was about two years ago when I developed an autoimmune disease (Hashimoto's). Someone suggested I try the paleo keto diet option, and that changed everything. My autoimmune disease went away, my overall inflammation reduced, and I felt amazing. I can’t recommend it enough – at least it’s worth a try. Just make sure you’re getting all the essential minerals and vitamins. Mealsheets helped me a lot with that. Remember, this is more of a lifestyle than a diet, so be prepared to commit to it long-term.

  12. I did the Keto diet back in 2017. My starting weight was 280lbs and my end weight was 225lbs. Unfortunately, I had to stop after 6 months because I was having kidney issues. Whether that was the root cause I don’t know. But after stopping those kidney pains went away. During my keto diet, I was able to get off my insulin and other diabetes medication. Without talking to a dietitian about meal plans…I did a “dirty” keto diet and this time I want to try a “clean” keto diet plan and see if that fixes the kidney issue. I’m not starting at my original weight off 280 but would like to lose some weight due to having to up my insulin and diabetes meds and lose some weight as well.

  13. hello doctor i recently diagnosed with pkd and there is a new research that shows keto diet is a big help and can maintain the enlargement of cyst, i hope you have thoughts on this looking forward

  15. I was skeptical about the Keto Diet at first, but it’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. The key is planning your meals and staying consistent. Once you get into ketosis, the results are incredible—more energy, better focus, and steady weight loss!

  16. Several years ago I did a keto diet with a friends' help. I had much difficulty getting into ketosis even though I followed my diet carefully on an app. I got the "keto flu" and felt crappy, but did lose weight. I couldn't sustain it due to this; I couldn't tough it through that flu time. I am about to try again. Wish me luck!

  17. I like how you raise and lower your eyebrows. Yes, a back and forth of serious to surprised looks must emphasize what you are saying. Now if you can only master the art of flailing your hands about while speaking, you will be even that much more authoritarian! barf
