Add the whole head of cabbage and cook for a few minutes until the outer leaves are soft and pliable. Drain the cabbage and let it cool. – 1/2 cup diced onion 3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Drain any excess fat. – 2 cloves garlic, minced 4. In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and other spices of your choice. – 1 teaspoon salt 5. Remove the cabbage leaves one by one, being careful not to tear them. Trim down the thick stem at the base of each leaf. – 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 6. Place a spoonful of the ground beef mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll it up tightly. – Other spices of your choice 7. Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over the rolls, covering them completely. – 1 cup tomato sauce 8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the filling is cooked through.
