Yes, but one shouldn't overdo it either.
I think we should keep enough fat on our body to use when we need it. Staying lean all the time isnt the way nature designed us.
90/10 works for me, and sometimes 80/20. because getting upset about what I'm eating is not good for my health either.
How often is "every now and then"?
But No Sugar is a treat.
Realistic approach

Dr, what is your take on this?
He has been practicing 23 hour fasting one meal a day for around three decades
He doesn't eat meat, mainly nuts rice and beans in a one hour window.
He is extremely healthy and even has 2025 dead lift world record..
👍
This guy is a doctor and don’t believe in addiction and it’s absolutely addiction to carbs and sugar and to say keto is good is like saying just have a beer or two a day it’s ridiculous go carnivore quit the addiction ruin and set yourself free
Loving the non dogmatic approach
He is saying for the average person sticking to a low carb diet at home (eating correctly on a daily basis) they will be fine in the odd occasion they visit relatives or visit with friends. He's not saying that it's fine to have cheat days every week or anything like that.
Solid advice, Dr.Westman! I took a course through your Adapt Your Life Academy in Jan 2024 to get back on the keto track. I'm 95-99% keto, with exceptions for family birthdays and Thanksgiving. I'm a granddad, and the little ones watch like hawks to make sure I'm eating cake on their birthdays. Yes, I'm sure my glucose levels are above normal for a few days, but they'll come down and things will work out in the end.
